DRDCF Grants all $40K of ECSF Funding available in our area.

The Deep River and District Community Foundation is proud to have partnered with Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada to deliver the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) funding to organizations in the Deep River Area.

Since the ECSF was launched on May 19, 2020, we’ve directed all of the $40K available in our area through the ECSF towards local charities and qualified donees that are supporting populations experiencing heightened vulnerability during this crisis. We are pleased to announce the ECSF funds have supported these projects:
• $3.8 K to North Renfrew Long Term Care, to support the need for additional PPE (i.e. surgical/procedure masks) to protect the patients, residents, staff and the community;
• $ 8 K to Deep River and Area Food Bank, to support COVID-19 response measures in providing sustainable service to our Food Bank clients in this difficult time;
• $20 K to Deep River and District Hospital (including Four Seasons Lodge, and North Renfrew Family Health Team), to support the organization's COVID-19 response to safeguard the health and safety of the patients, residents, staff, and the community;

• $8.2 K to Easter Seals Ontario to support children and youth in our area with physical disabilities who require dedicated in-home equipment during COVID-19.

Our community foundation has granted the full funding available to our area through the ECSF and we are no longer accepting ECSF applications. Since the start of the pandemic, charities and non-profit organizations have been leading the charge to assist those who need it most in the fight against COVID-19. We know the need for funding is still significant. If you would like to be notified if any additional funding becomes available through ECSF, please fill out form on https://www.communityfoundations.ca/initiatives/emergency-community-support-fund/.

We invite you to explore opportunities with the other ECSF funding intermediaries in your community. More information about other national funders is available https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/emergency-community-support-fund.html.

We invite you to follow Community Foundations of Canada’s website for further updates as well.
