DRDCF 2025 SPRING GRANT RECIPIENTS

 

The grant recipients from the 2025 Spring Cycle of the Deep River and District Community Foundation (DRDCF) and the presentations of all six Grants that were awarded are pictured above.

They are:

  1.  Deep River & Area Horticultural Society/Town of Deep River as a Qualified Donee (QD) - Tree Planting Project - $2,200 - DRDCF Chair Italia Cecco, DRDCF Vice-Chair Chris MacCready, DRDCF Board Member Teresa Selander, Deep River Director of Operations David McCarthy, Horticultural Society Co-President Susan Miller, Reeve Glenn Doncaster and Mayor Sue D'Eon

  2. THEOP/ Deep River Library as a QD - Puppet Play for Children - $2,500 - DRL Assistant Heather Pentney, DRDCF Board Member Teresa Selander, DRDCF Board Member Danielle Beaton, THEOP Chair Katharine Myers and DRDCF Vice-Chair Chris MacCready

  3. Deep River Library - Special Speaker Events - $1,089 - DRL Assistant Heather Pentney, DRDCF Board Member Teresa Selander, DRDCF Vice-Chair Chris MacCready and DRDCF Board Member Danielle Beaton

  4. Renfrew County District School Board - Performing Arts in School - $4,000 - K-8 Instrumental Music/Arts Teacher Kathryn Roesler, DRDCF Board Member Teresa Selander, Mackenzie Community School Principal Megan Robillard, DRDCF Chair Italia Cecco

  5. Upper Ottawa Valley Seniors Friendship Club/Deep River & District Health as a QD - Free CPR and AED courses to be offered in Chalk River, Deep River and Stonecliffe - $2,550 - Seniors Friendship Club President Wanda Harvey, DRDH CEO Janna Hotson, DRDCF Vice-Chair Chris MacCready, DRDH Executive Vice President & CFO William Willard and DRDCF Board Member Brian Cheadle

  6. Deep River Community Church - Window Replacement in the Community Events Centre - $15,000 - DRCC Treasurer Chris Tanner, DRDCF Vice-Chair Chris MacCready, DRDCF Chair Italia Cecco and DRCC Co-Ministers Sheldon & Amanda Alley

With a total value of $27,339, these projects enhance our communities and enrich the lives of our residents. The DRDCF is able to semi-annually disburse grants because so many generous donors over the last 23 years have contributed to the 28 Endowment Funds managed by the Foundation. Presently, the value of our Endowment Funds is approximately $2.2 million.

 

To date, the Foundation has given back to the communities of Deep River, Laurentian Hills and Head, Clara and Maria just over $850,000 in earnings.
