Les Maisons des Jeunes Du Pontiac in Rapides des Joachims receives Grant from DRDCF

Les Maisons des Jeunes Du Pontiac in Rapides des Joachims, would like to express their appreciation to the Deep River and District Community Foundation for their generous donation of $5020.00. The building that houses the Youth Centre, and the Village’s new Community Centre, is approximately 100 years old. Many years ago, the building was used a school house, then as a gathering hall for several years. This past summer the building has under gone renovations, which included painting the entire building and installation of new flooring, toilets and bathroom sink vanities. The building is currently needing new windows and doors. The windows in the building are the original windows and let in a lot of cold air in the winter months. The building is very hard to heat, and is not energy efficient. The Grant from the DRDCF will help with the purchase and installation of new windows and doors in the spring of 2021.
